Just a reminder that there is no Vipers game tonight. Our next and final home game is this Sunday at 2:30 PM.
Faced with a challenging schedule of four games in six days, three of which were on the road, the LaSalle Vipers came away with a 2-2 record. The team began the week with a win over Strathroy on Wednesday, fell in St. Marys on Friday, defeated the Kings in Komoka on Saturday, and then were upended by the London Nationals on Monday afternoon.
The LaSalle Vipers will meet the St. Marys Lincolns for the final time in the regular-season Friday night in St. Marys.
With five games remaining on their schedule, the Vipers (23-16-1-5) trail the third-place Lincolns (26-13-3-4) by seven points. A victory in tonight's game would put them five back with still a game in hand and would give them a glimmer of hope at catching them over the final few games of the season.
An exciting third period saw the LaSalle Vipers score late to skate away with a 4-3 victory over the Strathroy Rockets on Wednesday night at the Vollmer Complex in LaSalle.
Trailing 2-1 heading into the third, Jack Bowler scored nine seconds into the period on a nice individual effort by taking the puck right off the faceoff, working his way past a couple defenders, and then beating the goalie with a deke.

The LaSalle Vipers hopes of moving towards third-place in the GOJHL's Western Conference took a hit last night as the team fell to the visiting St. Marys Lincolns by a score of 6-4.
Evan Ferguson scored two outstanding solo rush goals less than a minute apart to give the Vipers a 2-1 lead mid way through the first period, but from that point on on their demise was met by far too much sloppy play.
For the second straight Wednesday, the LaSalle Vipers will play host to the St. Marys Lincolns as the two teams head towards their destined final position in the Western Conference standings.
After beginning the week with a big home win over the St. Marys Lincolns, the LaSalle Vipers took to the road for two weekend games.
On Saturday night, a back-and-forth affair with the Komoka Kings ended with Abdul Abouzeeni scoring into an empty net in double overtime. Wanting the two points to improve their position in the standings, the Kings rolled the dice and elected to pull their goalie in the final minute of the game. Down to what was likely the last chance, Abouzeeni hit the empty net from near center ice to give the Vipers the 5-4 win.

With his two points in last night's win over the St. Marys Lincolns and with 11 regular-season games still to play, Abdul Abouzeeni has already produced the second highest scoring season by a defenseman in LaSalle Vipers history. His 42 points through 38 games played are the most since David Sharpe's franchise-record 68 points established back in the 2009-2010 season.
The LaSalle Vipers turned in arguably their most complete game of the season in a 4–1 victory over the St. Marys Lincolns on Wednesday night at the Vollmer Complex.
Controlling much of the game from start to finish, the Vipers outshot the Lincolns 37-27 and got goals from Spencer Paradis, Hayden Heinrich, Abdul Abouzeeni and Ray Hamlin, and if not for some dazzling saves by St. Marys netminder Kyle Curtin, the score would have been more lopsided. His counterpart Sami Molu was up to the task all night as well, turning aside 26 shots to earn his 12th win of the season.

The LaSalle Vipers welcome the St. Marys Lincolns to the Vollmer Recreation Complex tonight for a key game in the standings.
Coming into tonight's contest (scheduled for a 7:00 PM start), the Vipers (19-13-15) find themselves in fourth-place in the GOJHL's Western Conference and trail the Lincolns (22-10-3-4) by seven points for third.
The three previous meetings between the two teams have been very evenly matched with all three being decided by one goal. St. Marys won both of their home games in overtime, while the Vipers took a 3-2 decision on October 23 in LaSalle.
